It is quite the opposite.
This can be waiting for a raise, promotion at work, admission, dream home, a child, etc. The list goes on. The waiting period is a beautiful (and often uncomfortable and uncertain) time to prepare.It is a time to discover. It is a time to understand "why" you are waiting for what you desire. It is imperative to understand that God knows best and He wants the best for us.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11When we come to this realization, we wait with confidence and peace, because we know that God is in full control. Whether or not what we desire comes to the past, all things will work together for our good. This can sometimes be a hard pill to swallow, but God knows exactly what He is doing. He knows the end from the beginning. Meaning: He knows how something will end before it starts. Thus, maybe some things are not meant to start or happen because it would be detrimental. All this to say, "the waiting period is not a punishment period".
